4-OP-7-E1.12 Paid Parental Leave (PPL) for Postdoctoral Scholars (New)

Purpose of Policy: This policy outlines the paid parental leave for postdoctoral scholars.
Summary: Paid Parental Leave for Postdoctoral Scholar Employees is a new FSU policy effective January 1, 2026. This policy provides postdoctoral scholars with up to six weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child. To be eligible, postdoctoral scholars must have been employed with FSU for at least 6 months, and the paid leave period must commence between two weeks of the anticipated birth but no later than 8 weeks following birth. Postdoctoral scholars electing this benefit will be required to return to the University for a minimum of 3 months and work at least 300 hours.
